Meet Our Pastors

Senior Pastor, Rev. Collinwise Osei-Aboagye

Senior Pastor Collinwise Osei-Aboagye, affectionately known as ‘Daddy CO’, was born in Kumasi, Ghana.  His parents led the Assembly of God missionaries from the north to Kumasi in the Ashanti region where the first Assembly of God church was established.  Daddy CO’s mother became very active and helped in the first permanent construction of the church, which is currently the central headquarters of the ministry in Akwatia Line, Kumasi. She remained active until she passed away in 2014 at age 93.  Daddy CO‘s father, however, was converted to Muslim.

Following secondary school, Daddy CO attended the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital’s School of Hygiene in Accra, Ghana.  He graduated with a degree in Public Health and Sanitation in 1975 and transitioned to the Ministry of Health, where he was employed as a Port Health Officer at the Kotoka International Airport. Daddy CO became the Port Health Officer-In-Charge and served in this capacity from 1977 to 1980.

Daddy CO eventually migrated to the United States to further his education and enrolled at the University of the District of Columbia (UDC) to undertake his pre-pharmacy courses.  While a student at UDC, Daddy CO became a Buddhist.  Following the completion of his pre-pharmacy coursework, Daddy CO transferred to Howard University’s School of Pharmacy to pursue his Doctor of Pharmacy degree which he received in 1990.  Following his graduation, Daddy CO worked for CVS as a staff pharmacist and Kaiser Permanente as a clinical pharmacist.  In 2004, he and his wife, Pastor Nora Osei Aboagye started their own retail business – Covenant Food and Pharmacy – located in Laurel, MD.

Daddy CO became born again in 1986 when he accepted Christ at the Church of the Living God in Hyattsville, Maryland.   God touched everything concerning him, his family, profession, relationships, in short, his life. He enrolled and graduated from Bible School in 2003. He taught Sunday school and was actively involved in the Men’s Ministry at the Church of the Living God.  As led by the Holy Spirit and with prayers from the Pastor, he joined a new church and became a foundational and pioneering member.  He became very active as leader of the Men’s Ministry, member of the board, chair of the pastor’s appreciation committee and a Sunday school teacher until God called him to his current service.

Daddy CO is married with eight children and three grandchildren. His favorite sport is basketball although he doesn’t mind watching soccer.  He loves to read non-fiction novels, and always reminds himself of the promise of God that “it is the Lord your God who goes with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you.”  His passion is that, all men will come to know Jesus and lift up holy hands and pray unceasingly.
